What Shall it Profit You?

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”— Mark 8:36

It is better not to come into this world at all than to come and go to hell at the end. Therefore, do not play with the salvation of your soul.
Mark 8:36 says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

To gain the whole world is to have all the good things life offers. If you gain the whole world but miss heaven, you have gained nothing. If you have everything but do not have Jesus, you have nothing. If you die without accepting Jesus Christ, your soul will be lost in hell forever.

The rich man in the Bible did not go to hell because he was rich, but because he refused to repent and serve the Lord. You can be rich and still go to heaven. Do not let anything in this world stop you from accepting salvation from the Lord.

Dear reader, what shall it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your soul?
Have you counted the cost of gaining the whole world and losing your soul?
Can you cope with a lost eternity in hell?

If you are living in sin, repent and surrender to Jesus Christ before it is too late. Pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I repent of my sins and ask for forgiveness. Come into my life, save me, and write my name in the Book of Life. Guide me to live for You. Amen.”

2. Live* a holy life. — Hebrews 12:14
3. Study God’s Word daily. — 2 Timothy 2:15
4. Be prayerful. — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
5. Focus on heaven. — Colossians 3:2
