The name JEHOVAH RAPHA means “God our Healer.” The Lord God Almighty is our Healer. He is the Great Physician. In Exodus 15:26, God says, “I am the LORD that healeth thee.”
There is no sickness that God cannot heal. And there is no disease He cannot cure. There is a popular saying: “Doctors treat, but God heals.” God has assured His children of healing when they are sick. The Bible tells us that healing is “the children’s bread” in Matthew 15:26. So, whenever you are sick, remember that God is your Healer.
No one is above sickness. Anyone can fall sick at any time. But when you are sick, pray to God and ask Him to heal you.
When King Hezekiah was sick, he prayed and asked God to heal him because he did not want to die. God answered his prayer by healing him and adding fifteen more years to his life in 2 Kings 20:1-6. The Psalmist also declared, “O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me” in Psalm 30:2.
The fact that God heals does not mean that when you are sick, you should not go to the hospital for treatment. There is no biblical belief that forbids going to the hospital for treatment. The Bible says, “Wisdom is profitable to direct” in Ecclesiastes 10:10. We know it is God who heals, but He can also work through the doctors in the hospital to bring you healing.
When God says, “I am the LORD that healeth thee,” He wants you to trust Him to heal you whenever you are sick. If you are sick and have gone to different hospitals and been treated by many physicians to no avail, go to God in prayer and ask Him to heal you.
The woman with the issue of blood suffered for twelve years. She went to many places to seek a solution to her problem, but all to no avail. Her problem ended when she came to Jesus by faith and touched the hem of His garment in Mark 5:25- 29.
It does not matter how you are feeling right now, or what that medical report says about your health condition. Just pray and believe that God will heal you. The truth is that at the mention of the name of Jesus, sicknesses and diseases bow. The Word of God heals. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
The major cause of sicknesses is sin. Sin opens the door for sicknesses and diseases to enter our bodies. That is why Jesus said to the man who had an infirmity for thirty eight years, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon thee” in John 5:14.
God, JEHOVAH RAPHA, is still in the business of healing people today.
Beloved, are you sick in any part of your body? Psalm 34:19 says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” The Lord will heal you today, in Jesus’ name.
But if you are living in sin, repent and surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ before it is too late.
