Prophets are servants of God, though not all of them (see 1 John 4:1).
In the Old Testament era, whenever Israel had a problem, God sent prophets with messages of hope and consolation. Whenever they sinned, He sent prophets to warn and correct them. The office of the prophet is highly esteemed.
God expects us to believe the prophets He has appointed over us. But today, some of us despise the prophets God has sent to us. For this reason, some of us aren’t making headway in life.
2 Chronicles 20:20* says, “Believe in the LORD your God… believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.” Believing your prophet is believing God — the One who sent him.
Who is your prophet? Your prophet is your spiritual leader God placed over you — *anyone who impacts your life spiritually*, could be your pastor, Sunday school teacher, house fellowship leader, etc.
Prophets are not always messengers of goodwill; sometimes they rebuke and warn (2 Samuel 12:1-12, 1 Kings 21:17-24). God sent Nathan to David to reprimand him, and Elijah to Ahab with judgement.
Beloved, do you believe your prophet?
Do you take his prayers and prophetic declarations seriously?
Do you regard their advice even when it is obvious God is using them to correct you? (see Hebrews 12:6)
Know that your progress in life is tied to you believing your prophet. The Bible says, “Blessed is the man who believed” (Luke 1:45).
As you believe your prophet today, may you experience a total turnaround, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
God won’t appoint a prophet over you, except you belong to Him.
If you are not yet born again, repent and surrender your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
