The Second Death

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” — Revelation 21:8

To die the second death is to go to hell on the last day. The second death is also called eternal death. Anyone who dies without accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour shall experience the second death. It will be the worst thing to happen to any soul.

God abhors sin. The Bible makes it clear that God hates sin. Habakkuk 1:13 says, “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity.”

Sin leads to spiritual and physical death. Sin, if not repented of before death, will lead to eternal damnation in hell, which is the second death (Romans 6:23; Psalm 9:17).

The only way to avoid going to hell on the last day is through repentance and faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. The main reason Jesus came to this world was to save us and give us eternal life.

John 11:25-26 says, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Dear reader of this tract, do you know that sin has consequences? Sin leads to eternal damnation in the lake of fire that burns forever. If you are living in sin, repent now and give your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.

Pray this prayer aloud now and believe in your heart:

Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again for my justification. Forgive me of all my sins. I turn away from my sinful life and surrender my life to You today. Save me from the second death and give me eternal life. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer and believed in your heart, your sins have been forgiven.

Next Steps for Your Spiritual Growth:

1. Find a Bible-believing church close to your residence and attend regularly (Hebrews 10:25).
2. Live a holy life (Hebrews 12:14).
3. Study the Word of God daily (2 Timothy 2:15; John 5:39).
