Salvation is a free gift from God. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” We are saved by grace, not by works. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
We are saved not because we are good or righteous (see Romans 3:10-12; Isaiah 64:6; Psalms 130:3-4), but by faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ (see Romans 3:25; Ephesians 2:8). Our salvation was made possible by Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. Hebrews 9:28 says, “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” 1 Peter 3:18 says, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.”
Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins, paying the price with His blood. Jesus Christ is both Lord and Saviour. The only way to eternal life is through Jesus Christ, who loves us and died on the cross for our salvation (see John 1:12, 3:16-18, 6:40, 11:26; Acts 4:12).
To be saved, you must believe in Jesus Christ and confess Him as your Lord and Personal Saviour. John 3:18 says, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
To believe in Jesus means to have the assurance in your heart that He died on the cross for your sins, and that His shed blood was the price He paid for your salvation. Moreover, you must confess Him openly by letting people around you know that you are now a believer. Romans 10:10 says, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Dear reader of this tract, do you believe in Jesus Christ? Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Personal Saviour? Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20).
Jesus is knocking on your door. Will you open the door of your heart to Him or close it against Him? If you are living in sin, repent and invite the Lord Jesus Christ into your life before it is too late.
Pray this prayer and believe in your heart that your sins have been forgiven:
“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I have fallen short of Your glory. I repent of my sins and turn away from them today. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day. I invite You into my heart to be my Lord and Saviour. Forgive me, cleanse me, and make me a new creation in You. Come into my life, save me, and write my name in the Book of Life. Guide me to live for You. Amen.”
