God Loves You

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Everyone wants to be loved and accepted. Love emanates from God. 1 John 4:8 says God is love. No one can love us more than God, who gave His only begotten Son for our redemption. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God’s love is perfect and unconditional.

The Depth of God’s Love:

1 John 4:9-10 says, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” Human love may fail, but God’s love is forever. God says, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5).

Our Response to God’s Love:

Due to our sinful nature, we’re not lovable, but God loves us and gave His Son for our sins. Romans 5:6 says, “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Love is a two-way thing. If God loves us, we must love Him back. 1 John 4:19 says, “We love him, because he first loved us.” Do you love God? Jesus says if you love Him, you’ll keep His commandments (John 14:15). If you truly love God, it will reflect in how you live.

Make a Decision:

Dear reader, God loves you and sent Jesus to save you. He’s calling you into a loving relationship that will last forever. Jesus says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). If you’re living in sin, repent and give your life to Jesus.

Pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I come to You with a humble heart, acknowledging my sins. Forgive me and cleanse me with Your blood. Come into my life and be my Lord and Saviour. I believe You died for me and rose again. Guide me and help me live for You. Amen.”

Next Steps:

If you’ve prayed this prayer, take these steps:

1. Find a Bible-believing Church close to your residence to attend (Hebrews 10:25).
2. Live a holy life (Hebrews 12:14).
3. Study the Word of God daily (2 Timothy 2:15; John 5:39).
4. Pray always (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
5. Be heavenly-minded (Colossians 3:2).
