“Whosoever is not found written in the book of life shall be cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).
The Bible reveals that there will be a roll call in heaven on the last day. Revelation 20:12 says, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
The preceding verse highlights a particular book, amongst others, called the book of Life. The book of life is the register in heaven where God writes the names of those who are born again. You must be a child of God before your name can enter the book.
If you’re living in sin, your name isn’t in the book of life. It doesn’t matter whether you go to Church or not, or what you claim to be in the vineyard of the Lord. If your name isn’t in the book of life, it’s simply not in it. You can’t bribe anyone to write your name in the book.
On the last day, anyone whose name isn’t in the book of life is considered not a candidate of heaven. It’s like not being a student when your name isn’t in the school register. That’s why Revelation 20:15 says, “Whosoever is not found written in the book of life shall be cast into the lake of fire.”
How would you feel if your name wasn’t found in the book of life? Imagine you had a dream that a roll call was made in heaven, but your name wasn’t called. When you wake up, you’d feel terrible, but thankful it was just a dream.
Dear reader, when the roll is called up yonder, will you be there? Will your name be found in the book of life? John 3:3 says, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
If you’re living in sin, repent and give your life to Jesus Christ before it’s too late.
Pray this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner seeking salvation. I repent of my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Write my name in the book of life and keep me safe on judgment day. Come into my life, save me, and guide me to live for you. Amen.”
If you’ve prayed, take these steps:
1. Find a Bible-believing Church (Hebrews 10:25).
2. Live a holy life (Hebrews 12:14).
3. Study God’s word daily (2 Timothy 2:15).
4. Be prayerful (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
5. Focus on heaven (Colossians 3:2).
Mark 16:15 KJV
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
