By Evangelist Joachim P. Erameh
Bible Reading: John 15:4-5
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
Message:
Some people think they can pass through this world successfully and go to heaven in the end without Jesus Christ.
Recently, I tried giving a man a tract, but he rebuffed me and said he doesn’t need it. To him, there are other more important things than the Jesus I was trying to tell him about. There are many people like this man who think that they don’t need Jesus.
We Live in an evil world where the devil and his angels are holding sway. If you think you can navigate the waters of life without Jesus by your side to help you, you deceive yourself.
Hosea 4:6 says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” There are many deep things about this life that we don’t know. In fact, there are many happenings that we cannot explain. Hence, you need Jesus.
Some Battles Are Not Ordinary
Some things in this life are not ordinary. There are forces responsible for most of the problems or issues you see in the lives of so many people today.
In Luke 13:16, Jesus said, “And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?” In the preceding verse, Jesus makes us understand that the problem of this woman was caused by Satan. And if this woman had not met Jesus, she would have died in her problem.
There are many people in the world today whom the forces of darkness have perpetually kept in one problem or the other. They need Jesus if they want to come out of their problems. The irony of the matter is that most of the people rejecting Jesus today are those who have problems in their lives.
Jesus Is The Only Way
In John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” The only way to heaven or eternal life is Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross of Calvary to save us from sin and hell. His blood was shed on the cross to pay for our sins and give us eternal life. The Bible says whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16).
Action Point
Dear reader, you need Jesus. Don’t be deceived by the things you have or have achieved that you don’t have need of Him. If you don’t have Jesus in your life, you will sooner or later get to know that you need Him. But I pray that it will not be too late for you.
If you are living in sin, repent now and surrender your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I admit that I cannot live this life without You. I repent of my sins today. Come into my heart, be my Lord and Saviour. Abide in me and let me abide in You so that my life can bear fruit for Your glory. Wash me with Your blood and give me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
